I am a middle-aged Animal Scientist with specialisation in Genetics and Breeding. I coordinate teaching, research and outreach activities of six departments in the Faculty of Agriculture of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. The Faculty offers degree programmes in numerous areas of tropical agriculture at graduate and postgraduate levels.
I teach a good number of courses in Animal Science, supervise research projects and serve as Chairman / Member of many university committees, in addition to taking part in governmental agriculture-related policy formulation and implementation. I am also involved in mentoring young scientists through serving as external assessors in different universities.
My research interests cover mainly genetic conservation, development and exploitation of autochthonous domestic animal resources.
