I'm currently work at the Centre of Excellence for Atoll Agriculture Research and Development. We work towards helping atoll Pacific islanders to alleviate poverty, promote development, and to fight the effects of climate change through sustaining and improving atoll farming. Its primary work program is to increase local food production through improving farmers’ skills in composting and crop management and development, as well as advocating sustainable farming practices. The Centre also addresses issues of health and nutrition, agricultural marketing, gender equity in agriculture, and climate change. All activities that are undertaken at the Centre focus on full participation and ownership of farmers themselves, with youth and women as priority groups. The Centre is established as pilot for atoll countries in the Pacific and elsewhere.
