Synopsis

This side event will discuss the outcomes of a survey that was conducted amongst members of the global Prolinnova network in collaboration with GFAR. Prolinnova is a network that Promotes local innovation in ecologically oriented agriculture and natural resource management. The community of practice encourages the use of farmer-led approaches to developing both technical and non-technical innovations that make use of local resources to address challenges facing smallholder farmers. Network members’ perceptions about supporting local innovation, as well as broader experiences from the network will be shared to allow for discussion about how to combine farmers’ creativeness in challenges as well as their understanding of the local context, with the knowledge and insights that can be introduced by other stakeholders.
