Improved Reporting on AR4D

Agricultural Research for Development (AR4D) lacks defining conceptual boundaries. This makes it difficult for donors to effectively monitor and evaluate AR4D within its Innovation Systems context. Guidelines for improved and standardised reporting of AR4D to the Creditor Reporting System (CRS) is a one short term step towards harmonising the reporting of AR4D. The issues around developing these guidelines and some key areas where donors could engage to improve their relevance are outlined in this Virtual Briefing.

After the presentation by Sinead Mowlds, consultant at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Phil Dobie, Senior Fellow at the World Agroforestry Centre and Adjunct Professor at University College Cork, Ireland, the participants discuss the practical implications of the shift in paradigms for researchers and donors’ behaviour.

The virtual briefing is chaired by Nikita Eriksen-Hamel (CIDA).
