The collaborative effort between Digital Coffee Future (DCF) and GFAR, known as the Digital Origin Education Program (DOEP), aimed to empower coffee-producing associations and enterprises in Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, and Peru through education on digitalization. The program provided six weeks of live, virtual classes and eight weeks of individual support to help participants develop digitalization plans tailored to their specific needs, whether related to farm-level management or marketing and sales. The diverse mix of participating organizations and the varied backgrounds of their representatives emphasized the need for a personalized approach. DOEP not only introduced digital tools but also transformed how these coffee associations perceived and used data. Despite challenges related to limited resources, the program has supported a more strategic digital transformation for Latin American coffee associations, contributing to the sustainable growth of the coffee sector and serving as an inspiring example of digital innovation in a traditional industry.
