A passionate, charismatic, innovative and committed youth , living in Zambia… and spends most of his time facilitating the sharing and exchange of knowledge and skills, within and across sectors of development especially the ICT for Development , and youth empowerment for social and economic development sectors. With a humble background, I am an Information Technology professional and a social worker, with about six years spent working with the youth, promoting their meaningful participation in sustainable development. For four years now I have been one of the instrumental people in the development of the Telecentre movement in Zambia, and beyond as my current involvement spans across Southern Africa. My exposure in the efforts to empower the youth challenged me to promote agriculture as one of the key sectors to swiftly uplift the standards of living and bring about sustainable development among the youth and communities in which they live. My involvement in youth work includes programming and implementation of strategies such as survival skills training and development, artisan and occupational support. I am the YPARD Representative –Zambia, Volunteer Technical Support Officer for Southern Africa Telecentre Network and Programs Manager for Youth Skills for Development a youth organization in Zambia.
So to me, the integration of ICTs in Agriculture is at the heart of agricultural development, and the future of agriculture lies in the hands of the Youth.
Well in my world of writing I blog as Wandila Simon Kamukwape's Diary with my blog at http://wandilasimonkamukwapesdiary.blogspot.com/ mainly about ICT for Development, Democracy and Governance, Human Rights, Youth and Agriculture, and Youth Development. As a team worker he has good communication skills and interpersonal relations which have won him an advantage to work on a number of initiatives with people from diverse ethnics, profession and interest.
So much to write about my self... but hey, know me as we go...Since we are a community...
