I hold a Master of Science (Environmental Science) from an Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) University, India and a Ph.D. (Environmental Science) working with Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS). Besides, I hold a post graduate certificate in “rights based approach” for equitable development {International Humanitarian Law} from National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad, India. I started my research career with Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Department of Space (Government of India) as a core-team of national-scale project on Natural Resource Assessment and Decision Support and Biodiversity Assessment at Landscape Level (BCLL). Later I was associated with two research organizations of Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR); The World Fish Centre and International Water Management Institute. I was also with International Union of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) as a project manager-India for Trans boundary water dialogue and later associated with University of Oxford, United Kingdom as a Chevening Rolls-Royce Science, Innovation and Leadership Scholar 2011, to study and understand the multifaceted challenge to bridge the science-policy edge by escalating the innovation connexion to societal wellbeing. I have been working on scientific assignments supported by concrete science and technical analysis in developing and emerging economies of Asia and Africa. With extensive experience in action-research projects, I have worked across governance issues in multiple ecosystems viz., forests, small islands, wetlands, fisheries and climate change and published over sixty papers, research reports, and book chapters with significant number of them being published at international level - With more than 14 years of experience as a researcher and transdisciplinary expert in sustainability science, Nidhi Nagabhatla specializes in geospatial application for natural resource management. She has worked with multiple International organizations with work experience in Asia and Africa regions. Her empirical interest includes: integrated resource modeling for decision support, Ecosystem Based Management, landscape ecology and transdisciplinary research methods and sustainability science theory and practice
