I did my PhD at the ETH-Zürich in Switzerland. With funding from the Swiss government, I worked for five years on rice and cotton protection in Madagascar. This success led to Canada where I founded a biopesticide company with Dr. Imme Gerke. After discovering and developing five biopesticides, we registered a Baculovirus in Canada and in the United States within a year. In 2002, I was asked by the Canadian regulator to assist wit the registration of biopesticides. For the following 10 years, I facilitated collaboration between growers, industry and government, building trust, and communication.
In October 2012, I left my position with the Canadian government so that my work toward sustainable pest management could become truly international.
I now work from Germany with all stakeholders on all crops, pests and products in all countries using tools such as global databases and OECD harmonization approach along with an array of facilitation and collaboration tools. -
