Dr Leisa Armstrong (PhD) is the Leader eAgriculture Research Group, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at School of Computer and Security Science, Edith Cowan University and is an adjunct Faculty and Postgraduate Guide at Computer Science Department, University of Mumbai. She is also the President of Australian Society of ICT in Agriculture (ASICTA), President Elect of the Asian Federation of ICT in Agriculture, member of Australian Computer Society, and SPAA (Precision Agriculture Australia). Dr Armstrong has been awarded a PhD (Agricultural Science) in 1994 Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Botany, Graduate Diploma in Science (Computer Studies), Master of Science (Software Engineering), Edith Cowan University completed 2001; and Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching, Edith Cowan University completed in 2008. Dr Armstrong conducts multidisciplinary research using both her vast experience in Agricultural science and computer science. Dr Armstrong has previous work for 10 years in Western Australia as a Agricultural Research scientist in the area of Crop Agronomy and Crop Physiology She has a number of industry and academic publication in the area of Agricultural Science. She has extensive knowledge and links with agricultural industry and research bodies in Australia and internationally.

Dr Armstrong’s research in the area of data mining of agricultural information, wireless networks, agricultural informatics and agricultural production systems. She was has lead a number of international and national research projects. Dr Armstrong has published widely in the area of Computer and Agricultural science, including 8 journal articles, 40 conference papers and 2 book chapters. Dr Armstrong is currently principal supervisor of 10 PhD students (at ECU and Mumbai University) and associate supervisor of 1 PhD students (Khon Kaen University. Dr Armstrong has been recognized internationally, and is the conference convenor of AFITA 2014 and for workshops at international conferences. She has been awarded visiting professorships at IIT Bombay, at Khon Kaen University, IIIT Hyderabad and Mumbai University, and Perth Convention Bureau Professional Development Award 2011.
